I have been to many a shop to hunt for the type of hand powered shredder you mentioned but to no avail. I like the idea very much because such solutions are cheap and environmentally friendly

note the double use of the adjective "powered" – when used doubly, the adjectives take on a deistic quality, one of which manages to drag in an almost omnipotent quality. oh, the poems that could be written upon this very subject! i'll hold my tongue and let the rest of you speculate!
