Very true. We already use the same ol' decorations year after year, but each year they're in different places on the tree, so it looks brand new.

As for handmade gifts, last Christmas I made some homemade paper, complete with feathers and leaves stuck in it and everything. I better start on some homemade mess for this year.

You can also make your own decorations, or reuse decorations from previous years. Just wipe them with a piece of damp cloth, and all will look new and shiny again (that's what my Mum does with our Chinese New Year decorations).

As for gifts, perhaps you can consider buying a handmade gift? Or better still, make those gifts yourself? It may take a very long time, no doubt, so start now :D
